Our Story

Jay and I met in Mr. Sommerville's science class in sixth grade.  I was the new girl and Jay was intrigued.  He did what every boy that age does to a girl he likes...he picked on me....and picked on me....and then picked on me some more.  So of course I picked on him right back...and thus began our wonderful relationship built on fun and teasing.

Jay and I became close friends through middle school and junior high but our relationship didn't blossom until we went to prom together our senior year "as friends".  Well, the "as friends" thing didn't last long because we started dating that night.  However, we did have a few stumbles along the way as most young relationships do and ended our relationship a year and a half later.

After going our own ways for eight and a half years, a more mature Jay and Lindsay reconnected and knew that one day this relationship would lead us to where we are now.  After dating again for a year and a half, Jay proposed to me and I gleefully accepted.

My ring!!!!!
Jay has always been something of a writer and him and I like to send cute little emails and text messages to each other.  Sometimes we would even write little notes to each other like we did in high school.  So it was no surprise when Jay came home with a letter for me, although....this one was different.

The letter was typed up on beautiful paper that had a rose in the background.  Absolutely gorgeous.  It was two pages and all about how when he first met me that he thought I was beautiful and wanted to be with me from the beginning.  It ended with how his dreams of sitting next to me on the bus and holding my hand in sixth grade have changed to dreams of watching me walk down the aisle in a wedding dress.

As I read this, my eyes began to well up.  When I was done reading, I put the paper down and saw Jay down on one knee holding the perfect engagement ring.  It was amazingly beautiful!  Of course, I said yes!
